Place branding matters. Whether we look at Denmark, the Baltic Sea Region, Berlin, Portugal or South Africa we can observe several place branding strategies aiming at positioning these particular locations on a global landscape of competition places.

We know that place branding is more than a logo and a slogan, but are there differences between the way practitioners, politicians and academics look at place branding?
