Funding from Nordic Council of Ministers for Project on Nordic Public Management Reform
Carsten Greve is the project leader of a group that has received funding from the Nordic Council of Ministers for a comparative project on “public management in the Nordic countries. The budget is 411.000 D.kr. and the funding from the Nordic Council of Ministers is 123.000 D.kr. The project will begin in December 2014 and run for 2 years. The project is called “The Nordic COCOPS” project because all participants are part of the largest European survey on public management reform within the European Union called the “Coordination for Cohesion in the Public Sector of the Future” (COCOPS) that received original funding through an FP7-program.
The current project will explore in depth the results for how public management reform has developed in the Nordic countries and what effects the reforms have brought with them. Carsten Greve is working together with his colleague Niels Ejersbo from University of Southern Denmark on the Danish part of the project. The other participants come from ministries of finance and universities in the Nordic countries and they are: The Ministry of Finance and Economics (Iceland), University of Iceland, The University of Bergen (Norway), University of Helsinki (Finland), University of Uppsala (Sweden). One of the planned outcomes of the project is a book on Nordic public management reforms. The first meeting in the research group will be held at the Department of Business and Politics on 8-9 December 2014.
