A new report that documents the Gender Gap in the Tourism Academy is published today (Monday, 18th of May) worldwide under the Creative Commons License.
The report presents a study that is unique because it looks at global academic environments/networks and it focuses specifically on leadership positions, examining the under-representation of women in high visibility tourism academic positions.
The first for this discipline, the report presents a series of new indicators of academic leadership, which are complementary, and yet different from traditional studies of gender in higher education.
The study’s findings show a clear gender gap and an under-representation of women in nearly all leadership indicators.

The project team includes 12 researchers from 7 different countries.

This study was coordinated by Associate Professor Ana Maria Munar from the INT Department and member of the Diversity and Inclusion Council at CBS.
