The Festival of Research at CBS: How to make the most of your employees

How do you make the most of your employees? Listen to the researcher and the CEO share their thoughts on the matter, when CBS invites to the Festival of Research on Friday 29 April. Alfred Josefsen, CEO of the Danish supermarket Irma and Adjunct Professor at CBS and Assistant Professor Anders Raastrup Kristensen are ready to give a piece of parting advice at a morning meeting.

Researchers reach designers, schools and nursing homes

Twelve lecturers from CBS have also joined the scheme "Book a Researcher", which is one of the initiatives of the Festival of Research. One of the lecturers is Lisbeth Clausen, Associate Professor at the Department of Intercultural Communication and Management. It's her fourth time as a speaker at the Festival of Research. This year, she will be talking about the differences and similarities between the Danish and Japanese people. She enjoys sharing her experience with a somewhat different audience than normal.

- I've lived in Japan for many years, so I think it's interesting to share my experience in a new forum. This year, I will be speaking in front of a group of Danish designers, a nursing home and a school in Ishøj. In this way, the Festival of Research gives me an opportunity to kill some of the stereotypes about the Japanese, says Lisbeth Clausen.

Lisbeth Clausen finds the dialogue particularly exciting at these lectures.

- I find it funny to see how they react to my words. Many people realise that things can be viewed from another perspective. Some of them often have outdated perceptions of this subject. Their questions can lead to statements that transcend my research. But after all, varying the general perceptions is what it's all about.

Display window to the business community

Another participant is Associate Professor Peter Juel Henrichsen, who conducts research in international languages and knowledge technology. To him, the Festival of Research is a great means to expose his projects to interested decision-makers from the business community. This year is particularly interesting, since a specific project is operational enough for companies to use it.

- At CBS, we are experts in web-based measurement of the average Dane's opinion on the decisions made by the large corporation, the local authorities, the minister, etc. Call the project an electronic watchdog. Our watchdogs snoop about on the internet 24 hours a day and bark when people change their opinion, says Peter Juel Henrichsen.

The other lecturers are Peter Holdt Christensen, Kasper Roldsgaard, Mette Skovgaard Andersen, Jesper Clement, Michael Møller, Iørn Korzen, Søren Sandfeld Jakobsen, Anne Marie Bülow and Else Skjold.
