Britta Gammelgaard awarded with the Herdorf Transport Research Prize

For a long time, Professor Britta Gammelgaard from Department of Operations Management has built bridges between business economics and transport and logistics research. Throughout the years, she has made herself noticed in this research area, and now she may add award winner to her CV.

On Monday 2 November, Britta Gammelgaard received the Herdorf Transport Reasearch Prize in recognition of her research into innovation in the transport and logistics sector. The prize is worth DKK 75,000, and it was presented by the Danish Minister for Transport Lars Barfod.

Britta Gammelgaard is a very productive researcher. She has published a series of international research articles, taken part in developing the Nordic research networks NOFOMA and NORDLOG and has been a prominent figure in the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals interest group. Her research has also resulted in a model which is to promote management of process innovation in the transport and logistics sector.

Furthermore, she has been programme director for the HD study programme Supply Chain Management and managed to introduce a new elective called International Shipping and Transport, which only emphasises her passion for the subject.

Herdorf Transport Research Prize

Every two years, the prize is given to a person in recognition of his/her special efforts in bridging research and transport, especially when it comes to:

- new realisation in the area of transport research,

- professional development, including pedagogical development, for the benefit of transport-related studies, and

- bridging the different disciplines of transportation research.

The Herdorf Transport Research Prize has been awarded three times so far.
