The story of SMG

The journal is doing a series about innovative management research environments in Europe and under the heading 'Knowledge governance in a dynamic global context' Professor and Director of the center Nicolai J. Foss describes the story of SMG.

- SMG is the main (if not the only) embodiment of a distinct perspective on international business and strategic management theory, a perspective that has developed on the basis of the economic theory of the firm for almost two decades. Specifically, the scholars who constitute SMG as well as the extensive network of scholars within and outside Copenhagen Business School that is associated with the SMG are cultivating an emerging distinct perspective called 'knowledge governance, he says.

The researchers at the Center for Strategic Management and Globalization undertake research into the strategic behaviour of companies in an increasingly globalised world. The ambition of the center is to develop into Northern Europe’s leading research center in strategic management and international business.
