CBS receives DKK 13 million towards research on experience economy

Research shows that Denmark is banking on the experience economy in a broad sense and that the program committee, KINO, of the Danish Council for Strategic Research has decided to support the CBS research project ”Creative Encounters – The Socio-economic Organization of Creative Industries” with DKK 13 million.

The project will attempt to understand what exactly happens when the creative industries express themselves. The purpose is to clarify the complex collaboration between cultural and economic logic with regard to work processes, professions, organizations and industries.

“The focus of the research project is divided into three areas – fashion, luxury, movies and media, as well as place branding, art and culture – all of which are areas in which Denmark excels.” says Professor and Project Manager Brian Moeran.

The project:

Ten senior researchers from CBS participate in the research project, as well as a number of Ph.D. students and some external science partners all of whom together make an interdisciplinary, international research team. Head of the project is Professor Brian Moeran, Department of Intercultural Communication and Management at CBS.

Collaborators:

Filmskolen, Berg Publishers, TEKO, Zentropa, Experience Economy Network, National University of Singapore, Singapore Arts Museum, among others.

Total budget:

App. DKK 22.4 million
