The annual prizes for the best Danish researchers and foreign research prizes for the very best PhD – students were awarded at the Eliteforsk conference on Thursday, January 25th.

The reason for the establishment of these prizes is that elite researchers create to attention and interest in research and are thus “important role models for ambitious young people in the early part of their education - and they are important examples of great value to Danish society”, as Minister for Science Helge Sander says on the homepage of www.eliteforsk.dk.

Associate Professor Leonard Seabrooke and Assistant Research Professor Mathias Buch-Kromann receive the Young Elite Researcher prize from Det Frie Forskningsråd consisting of DKK 200,000. Seabrooke researches political economics, comparative politics and institutional theory and received the prize for the research project “IMP and legitimizing tax reforms in borrower countries” – Buch-Kromann researches data linguistics and his project is called “Machine translations and modelling language”.

Also 3 PhD students from CBS received elite research travel prizes of DKK 250,000, they are Mia Reinholt (SMG), Peter Ørberg Jensen (ILK), Kristian Jakobsen (INT).
