Danish-Chinese Relations Since 1949 and the Perspective Until 2049

Abstract:
How will European-Chinese and Danish-Chinese relations develop over the next 10, 20 and 30 years in regard to trade and co-operation within economy, innovation, science, education and culture? China’s former Ambassador to Denmark from 2002 to 2006, Mr. Zhen Jianguo will share his assessment and his best forecast with the participants in the meeting. 
 
For Danes ambassador Zhen’s assessment will be of a particular interest. Since 1964, when Zhen Jianguo as a young student began the studies of Danish language and culture at University of Copenhagen, he has followed Danish affairs for more than 50 years and spent more than 15 years in Denmark including three postings at China’s Embassy in Denmark. Ambassador Zhen’s knowledge about the Danish society and Denmark’s economy, businesses, politics, education and culture as well as his knowledge about Danish-Chinese co-operation will add a unique dimension to this lecture. 
 
About the speaker:
Zhen Jianguo joined China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1970 and was posted at China’s Embassy in Denmark from 1971 to 1977, from 1983 to 1987 and again from 2002 to 2006. This time as the Ambassador of P.R. of China to Denmark. From 1999 to 2002, Zhen Jianguo was China’s Ambassador to Greece and from 1993 to 1996, Zhen Jianguo was with China’s Embassy in Stockholm. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing Zhen Jianguo held various positions including the post as Director-General for the Department of Western European Affairs from 1996 to 1999.
