Presentation and academic fields

Rodrigo Zeidan is a BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. 

Fields of interest include Applied Economics and Finance, Sustainable Finance, Working Capital Management, Corporate Finance, International Trade, Development Economics, and more.

Professional and/or academic experience

Currently employed as a Full Professor of Practice in Business and Finance at NYU Shanghai and part-time as an External Lecturer at the Depart-ment of Finance, Copenhagen Business School and Fundacao Dom Cabral.

Has published articles in the Journal of Corporate Finance, Nature Sustainability, Harvard Business Review, Energy Economics, Journal of Business Ethics, Economic Letters, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Cleaner Production, Economic Modelling, and European Journal of Health Economics, among others.

He is the author of Economics of Global Business (MIT Press), The General Model of Working Capital Management (Palgrave Macmillan), and six other books.

Pedagogical experience/method skills/supervision

Has delivered over 15,000 teaching hours for undergraduates and over 4,000 for post-graduates and executive education.

Other than many courses in economics and finance (Micro, Macro, International and Industrial Economics, Economics of Global Business, Game Theory, Corporate Finance, Derivatives, Sustainable Finance, and others), has developed courses in executive education with numerous companies such as Kraft Foods, Johnson & Johnson, Santander, Skanska, L’Oreal, RCI Banque, Vale, Queiroz Galvão, Itaú Bank, and Petrobras, as well as various government agencies in Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Has supervised dozens of BSc and MSc. theses and acted as an external examiner on master’s and bachelor’s programs (several courses).
