Presentation

Most of my research is empirically driven and concerns the organizational processes and practices that involve the materialization of  ideas, knowledge, product designs, projects and their often unexpected outcomes and transformations. The empirical domains are heterogeneous and spans automotive, electronics, building construction, transportation and medical devices. A common analytical approach across these empirical studies is the pragmatic  focus on the active (material) role of objects and technological devices, for example in shaping design options, strategic decisions and outcomes for particular projects and firms.

Primary research areas
  • Project management and organization
  • Organization theory, including the sociology of science, technology and innovation
  • Product development and design, including building construction and sustainability
  • Management accounting and strategy, including the relation between the project and the firm
  • The processes and material practices of  knowledge production and (e)valuation
