Network on Drones and Aesthetics

Abstract:

As research activities on drone technology and aesthetics are scattered in Denmark, this network intends to facilitate cooperation and make such research internationally competitive. We envisage an interdisciplinary network that connects drone researchers from the humanities across Danish and international academic institutions. We aim to analyze aesthetic representations of both civilian and military drone technology in literature, popular culture, art, film, and architecture, which in turn enables us to attain knowledge about drone technology’s implications for human beings. The network will provide the groundwork for a larger research application (DFF, Velux, ERC or Innovationsfonden).
