Development of a collaboration to examine the implications of new conditions and Technologies for corporate social responsibility issues in maritime supply chains (CSR in Maritime Supply Chains)

Abstract:

Based on this growing concern about sustainability, the environment, and CSR, this grant is being requested to: 1) plan a meeting/workshop of selected individuals, some of whom will be taking part in a conference in Copenhagen (November 12); 2) brainstorm issues related to CSR and sustainable shipping practices; 3) develop a collaboration that will result in research funding from a SSHRC Partnership Development Grant (PDG) (2014) and subsequently further funding such as a Partnership Grant (PG) (2016); and 3) develop other methods of knowledge exchange e.g. student internships, with university and corporate partners.
