Sustainability Seminar - Bringing together business and social sustainability with shared value

Wednesday, October 24, 2018 - 13:30 to 15:30

The embeddedness of the economy in the society raises question how companies can fulfill their obligation to act in responsible manners. Companies evaluate more and more their interconnection to social affairs and structures. But how can companies drive business and contribute to solving current societal challenges simultaneously? Join us for the CBS Sustainability seminar in October when Katarina Ammitzbøll presents A.P. Møller Mærsk’s approach on sustainability by focusing on shared value.  She will draw on examples on how Mærsk works with ship recycling, food loss as well as inclusive trade. Furthermore, Steen Vallentin (Associate Professor, Dep. Of Management, Society, Communications, CBS) will provide a critical commentary to the practices and theoretical background of the shared value concept.

Katarina Ammitzbøll has more than 20 years of experience with conflict resolution, peacebuilding and democratic state building providing advisory service to government executives and UN leadership. She is currently engaged at A.P. Møller Mærsk as Senior Partnership Manager for Sustainability Strategy & Shared Value. Her aim is to leveraging business capabilities for shared value and social transformation.
