PhD defence: Andreas Kamstrup

In order to obtain the PhD degree, Andreas Kamstrup has submitted his thesis entitled: Crowdsourcing and the architectural competition as organisational technologies

Monday, December 11, 2017 - 13:00 to 15:00

Innovations and innovative ways of organising seem to be in constant demand in contemporary organisations. In the architectural world, such demands are reflected in new ways of organising interactions between the different actors in the building industry. On the basis of ethnographic studies, this dissertation examines two different ‘organizational technologies’ used to organize such interactions – a crowdsourcing platform and a dialogue-based architectural competition. The dissertation finds that introducing collaboration (in forms of dialogue and communication) to interactions that traditionally are competition-based, raises questions concerning – for instance – the role of openness and the facilitation of such collaboration. The dissertation is article-based.
