Abstract
This study examines the process of becoming a social entrepreneur and practicing social entrepreneurship through emancipatory entrepreneuring. The data consist of four longitudinal case studies with documents, interviews, observation, and shadowing. Using the emancipation lens, the study explores the constraining and allowing practices related to establishing and running a venture for social change. In extending previous findings, this study finds that the social enterprise actors lean on professional knowledge they have gained from the fields they partially try to emancipate from. Furthermore, the social entrepreneurship process as emancipatory entrepreneuring is characterised by a need to teach others.

The abstract is from a full paper already written and submitted to a conference. Eeva is interested in receiving feedback on how to develop it further.
