Partnership 2012 - Kofi Annan visits Copenhagen Business School
Partnerships between the corporate sector and NGOs are necessary to solve some of the largest global problems within education, poverty, environment and health. In June, Copenhagen Business School hosts the conference 'Partnership 2012', which will lead the way for good partnerships, and this with the participation of Kofi Annan, the former Secretary-General of the UN, who put social responsibility on the global agenda. - Kofi Annan will share his thoughts on the collaboration between profit and non-profit in the year 2012, says Per Holten-Andersen, President of CBS.- Kofi Annan is the closest we will get to a global architect of concepts such as CSR and social responsibility. He is truly a beacon when it comes to setting the course for partnerships between profit and non-profit, says Per Holten-Andersen.
Renowned speakers
The event marks an increased Danish and international focus on the necessity of partnerships to find solutions to some of the large societal and environmental problems - both from the Danish and international corporate sectors, the government and the Danish CSR Council.The conference has been organised by the Copenhagen Business School, the CSR Foundation, ISOBRO (The Danish professional association for fundraisers), the Confederation of Danish Industries, and the European Fundraising Association. The conference takes place from 10-12 June 2012. Besides Kofi Annan, who visits the conference on its 2nd day, the keynote speakers are Peter Eigen from the Transparency International, Jon Duschinsky from Be The Change, Christian Friis Bach, Minister for Development Cooperation and a number of multinationals who will visit the conference together with partner NGOs such as Amnesty International, UNICEF and WWF.
A future oriented conference
The last day takes place in an academic context with presentations and visits from leading scholars within social responsibility, says Mette Morsing, Professor from the CBS Sustainability Platform:- Denmark has a long tradition of experimenting with different types of partnerships between private, public and civil society players. We expect that the conference will create renewed inspiration and debate on how companies in partnership with organisations can - and cannot - assume new types of social responsibility towards sustainable societies, says Mette Morsing.The conference is a result of CBS' new strategy - Business in Society.
