New Academic Director for the Sustainability Platform

Professor Stefano Ponte from Department of Business and Politics will be the new Academic Director to co-lead  the CBS Sustainability Platform with Professor Mette Morsing. He will be taking over the position from Professor Susse Georg.
Appointed by CBS in January 2012
 
Stefano Ponte is a senior researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS), and he was recruited to CBS as a professor in international political economy in January 2012. He will take up his full-time position on 1 September.In terms of research he is interested in how the global economy is governed and how developing countries and emerging economies fare in it.This includes the operation of standards, labels and certifications in agro-food markets.
 
The Academic Directors’ tasks are to identify societal and business problems to be addressed by the platform and articulate them in ways that address the academic, private and public communities, attract external funding and bring together scholars across disciplines to work on these problems at CBS and internationally.
 
Commenting on Stefano’s appointment, Dean of Research Alan Irwin stated: 
- With his strong research background, commitment to cross-disciplinary engagement and long-standing interest in sustainability issues, Stefano is an ideal person for this important role.
