Is your company ready for the next generation?
Companies that follow strategy textbooks religiously may very well lose their touch with an ever-changing market that does not always respect the conventions of strategic literature. This is the conclusion of a new book Beyond Strategy – The Impact of Next Generation Companies written by Flemming Poulfelt and Michael Moesgaard Andersen.
The book gets high praise from a Danish top executive. Jørgen Buhl Rasmussen, President and CEO of Carlsberg, argues that every executive should read through the book to avoid being taken over by black swans.
- I recommend “Beyond Strategy - The Impact of Next Generation Companies” to any executive. It has been an eye-opener for me, in particular because the practical case descriptions demonstrate how next generation companies may obtain powerful results by trading in well-known recipes for a more aggressive mindset, reversing the rules of the game. Who would like to sit back with clipped wings when unforeseen black swans enter the center stage, says Jørgen Buhl Rasmussen.
Flemming Poulfelt and Michael Moesgaard Andersen are the authors of the book. Poulfelt is a professor of management and strategy and vice dean at Copenhagen Business School. Andersen is adjunct professor of strategy at Copenhagen Business School. He runs a venture capital company and is co-owner and CEO of a medium-sized consulting business with a global focus.
