The Practice of Corporate Communications

Guest lecture by professor Joep Cornelissen, Leeds University Business School

Tirsdag, 12 april, 2005 - 10:45 to 13:30

Professor Cornelissen will outline the practice of corporate communications (CC), and will discuss whether there is such a thing as ‘excellence’ or ‘best practice’ in CC in the way in which communications professionals are organised and carry out activities on behalf of their firms.

He will use case examples from his new book (Corporate Communications, Sage, 2004) and will draw upon insights of his ‘best practice’ research with companies like Nokia, Shell, Phillips and Siemens. He will address challenges for integrated marketing communications. The session will also include a case discussion and brainstorming exercise.

Joep Cornelissen is a Senior Lecturer in Corporate Communications at the Leeds University Business School, and previously taught at the Amsterdam School of Communications Research, the University of Amsterdam. He currently teaches corporate and marketing communications on the MBA and MA programmes at Leeds.
