Symeon C. Symeonides LL.B. (Priv. L.), LL.B. (Publ. L.), Univ. of Thessaloniki, LL.M., S.J.D., Harvard, is Dean and Alex L. Parks Distinguished Professor of Law at Willamette University, in Oregon, USA.

He is the drafter of three private international law codifications and the author of 24 books and 104 articles in six languages, including the widely-read annual surveys of American choice-of-law cases for the last 23 years.

He is President of the American Society of Comparative Law and the Common Law Group of the International Academy of Comparative Law, Vice President of the International Association of Legal Science, and member of the American Law Institute, the Order of the Coif, and Phi Beta Kappa.

He is the recipient of the first Friedrich K. Juenger Prize in Private International Law. He has taught at several American and European universities, including Louisiana State, Tulane, Loyola, Paris-I, Paris-V, Louvain-la-Neuve, and the Hague Academy of International Law.

His widely acclaimed book The American Choice-of-Law Revolution: Past, Present and Future (2006) is one of five books chosen for inclusion in the Hague Academy Monographs.
