Maria Figueroa: Lead Author for the Working Group III, IPCC, AR6
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the leading international body for the assessment of climate change. The IPCC is currently in its Sixth Assessment cycle. During which the Panel will produce three Special Reports, a Methodology Report on national greenhouse gas inventories and the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6). The Sixth Assessment Report is expected to be ready in 2021.
Each of the IPCC Assessment Reports requires the international selected team of experts working as Lead and Contributing authors to consider the range of scientific, technical and socio-economic views, the diversity of the scientifically and technically valid evidence, and the level of agreement in the scientific, technical, and socio-economic literature to compose a full scientific and technical assessment of the global status on climate change.
As a Lead Author Maria Figueroa will be responsible to write and contribute to the production of chapters within the assessment report. She will bring her transdisciplinary research experience in the area of governance, partnerships, innovations and civil society contributions to sustainable transitions, to join the efforts of IPCC Working Group III for assessing the scientific, technical, environmental, economic and social aspects of the mitigation of climate change.
