Responsible Use of Technology event and hackathon: Responsible Use of Blockchain

Abstract:

Copenhagen Business School, Office of Responsible Management Education (CBS PRME) aims at making responsible management integral to all education at CBS. In light of the increasing role of technology and digital transformations in societal and economic life as well as recent developments in international and national policies, CBS PRME initiated a new project on responsible management and technology. It aimed at raising awareness among students, academia and practitioners on the impact, potential and challenges that technologies will have on Danish businesses, society and the planet, leading the discussion from disruptive innovation to responsible disruption. The multi-day event consisted of talks, debates, a three-day hackathon and an award-ceremony for the hackathon winners as well as for the best Bachelor, Master and PhD thesis in the area of technology for sustainability. The event aimed at bringing together representatives from academia, business and civil society. For the three-day hackathon, students from a wide range of Danish universities and diverse backgrounds worked on interdisciplinary solutions to current challenges faced by society and industries in Denmark and worldwide based on the responsible use of disruptive technologies.
