Anna Thomasson will be the new dean of education at Copenhagen Business School (CBS). She is 45 years old and comes from a position as vice dean of education at Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM).

”We are truly pleased to welcome Anna Thomasson to CBS and our Senior Management team. I am convinced that her personal and professional competences will benefit CBS and that we will have a great collaboration,” says Inger Askehave, Acting President. She continues:

"The education area is successful and essential for CBS, and it requires a dean who has the passion, ability and ambition to continue the tremendous effort already made. And Anna has all of them. Moreover, she has the competences to further develop the programme portfolio and cement our role as the most socially relevant business school in the North,” says Inger Askehave.

Anna Thomasson has a master degree in Business Administration and a PhD, and she is Associate Professor at the Department of Strategy at Lund University with focus on the public sector and management. For several years, she has worked with relevant aspects of programme management and development and thus has experience working with programme development, quality management and pedagogical competence development, initially as director of studies and most recently as vice dean, where she as part of the LUSEM Management Team has implemented the strategy and ensured programme quality with focus on the international dimension.

These are also some of the areas Anna will spearhead at CBS going forward. She will contribute to the realisation of our CBS strategy including Nordic Nine, which consists of nine unique capabilities within knowledge, values and action all graduates must possess.

A special focus on the programme-strategic initiatives within digitalisation, green transition, diversity and the development of business and transformative competences is also on the new dean of education’s to-do list.

"I am excited and cannot wait to get started. CBS is one of the best business schools in Europe. I look forward to getting to know the students and the many competences that exist at CBS and to contributing my experience and a fresh pair of eyes to implement the interesting strategic direction CBS is moving in,” says Anna Thomasson.

Anna takes on the new position on 22 August and will replace Peter Lotz, Associate Dean of the Diploma Programmes, who has been acting dean of education since Gregor Halff took on a new position at Vrije University in Amsterdam.
