Lasse Heje Pedersen awarded two international prizes

Lasse Heje Pedersen has just been awarded two international awards: the Banque de France – Toulouse School of Economics Prize (BDF-TSE Prize) for his overall career and the Whitebox Prize for the best financial research in 2013 for his article Time Series Momentum

Professor of Finance at Copenhagen Business School, Lasse Heje Pedersen won the the Banque de France – Toulouse School of Economics Junior Prize, awarded annually to a younger researcher affiliated with a European-based institution who has developed central concepts to improve our understanding of Monetary Economics and Finance.

As a prize winner, Lasse will spend at least two weeks as a visiting scientist between the Banque de France and TSE and he is awarded a cash prize of 15,000 Euros plus travel and living expenses.

But that is not all, Lasse’s co-authored article on Time Series Momentum has also won the $25,000 Whitebox Prize for the best financial research in 2013. The article is written with Tobias J. Moskowitz and Yao Hua Ooi and was published in May 2012 in the Journal of Financial Economics. "This research was unanimously agreed upon by the prize committee as a major contribution to both financial literature and the investment community," said Andrew Redleaf, Founder and CEO of Whitebox Advisors.

 

About the Prizes

Banque de France and the Toulouse School of Economics
In 2012, the Banque de France and the Toulouse School of Economics launched a series of prizes in Monetary Economics and Finance. Whitebox Prize
The purpose of the Whitebox Prize for the best financial research is twofold: to promote the most profitable and productive allocation of capital and to bring greater recognition to scholars, investment professionals, journalists, and commentators whose work advances that end.
