Inspired by working groups like CAPERS, WGAPE, NEWEPS, and CaliWEPS, which have built communities that provide detailed feedback on working papers and research designs, we are happy to announce the start of EuroWEPS – a new workshop that will bring together political scientists in Europe to carefully engage with research in progress. We welcome full-length papers and research designs/pre-analysis plans from all subfields within political science and from researchers at all stages in their careers.

Our first meeting will focus on the broadly-conceived substantive areas of social, political, and economic  inequality, and on empirical work with an emphasis on causal identification and careful design and analysis. We will meet for two days to discuss a set of working papers and research designs, which will be circulated and read in advance (no presentations). Papers in early stages are particularly welcome.

Our first session will take place on May 27-28 in Copenhagen  (the “new culinary capital of Europe”!). Copenhagen Business School will host the EuroWEPS meeting and can provide funding for one person per paper/research design (economy flights + 2 nights of accommodation + workshop dinner + lunch).

Applications with papers, research designs, pre-analysis plans, or extended abstracts of at least 1,000 words, should be submitted by Monday, March 4 via email to euroweps@gmail.com

Women and minorities are especially encouraged to apply. We will notify successful applicants by Friday, March 15.

EuroWEPS Organizers:

Jens Olav Dahlgaard (Copenhagen Business School)
