I analyze the importance of a multidimensional set of abilities on the labor market. Individuals must be creative and innovative in their work and must communicate knowledge, interact with others, work independently, and use other socio-emotional abilities – in addition to using core cognitive abilities such as reading and math ability. My research focuses on how these individual abilities affect labor market outcomes such as the wage and employment. The knowledge can guide politicians when deciding which abilities to strengthen through education and employment policies.
