I am a PhD Fellow at the Department of International Economics, Government and Business (EGB) at CBS. The central aim of my PhD project is to generate a better understanding of the utilization of free trade agreements (FTA) by firms. My research largely relies on quantitative data and tries to combine macro perspectives from international economics with observations on a micro level from international business. Novel insights into the utilization of FTAs are both valuable for the design of targeted trade-policy tools, as well as desirable to justify the protracted and resource-intensive process of FTA-negotiations.
My general research interests include applied international economics, economic history and the role of interest groups in electoral outcomes. In addition, I am particularly interested in EU and German economic and foreign policy, as well as in the analysis of German elections and electoral trends over time.
I have a MSc in Economics from Humboldt-University of Berlin and prior work experience in the financial sector, as well as in trade policy making from the European External Action Service.
