Research Seminar: Publication of literature review based studies

Join us for this research seminar with the ambition to highlight some of the central aspects of making a good literature review, as well as pointing to potentials for publication of these literature reviews.

Onsdag, 17 januar, 2018 - 12:00 to 13:00

Purpose
Understanding literature as part of theory development is central to all academic work. Sometimes the process of understanding literature can lead to publication as a method. The ambition of the seminar is to highlight some of the central aspects of making a good literature review, as well as pointing to potentials for publication of these literature reviews. The ambition is also to initiate an academic discussion that has the potential to bridge fields of research in the department. In which of the departments’ central academic outlets will literature review studies be most appropriate? How can we do more together here? What are the potentials to do interdisciplinary literature studies that can help relate academic fields in the department? We hope to be able to address these and other related questions at the seminar and that you can find the time to participate and contribute.

During the seminar we will refer to the following journal articles. The most central paper for the seminar is Durach et al. 2017. Tranfield et al. 2003 is a seminal paper on the structured literature review method, and Hald and Mouritsen 2013 is there only to provide an example of one type of theory driven literature review.
