In my PhD project, I study political initiatives at the city-level, which aim to transform ways of social, economic and political organising and which have an explicit focus on democratic participation, inclusion and environmental sustainability. My aim is to study what these efforts at the local level might imply for the contestation of neoliberal capitalism against the background of its multiple, ongoing crises. I am interested in the various actors involved and the relations between them, both on the local level and internationally through various networks.
