Series of lectures about Big Data
This fall, the union 'Kommunikation og Sprog' and CBS’ new Center for Business Data Analytics are hosting three events about Big Data, the second and third of which take place in November.

Big Data – sustainability, Big Business or Big Brother
At this event you will meet Per Østergaard Jacobsen,external lecturer and project manager, Pernille Tranberg, data ethics advisor, Per Lindegaard Hjort, Chairman of Kommunikation og Sprog, and Jacob Søby Bang, Director of Strategize consultancy services. Together they will offer an insight into the possibilities of Big Data and the communication ethics, commercial and societal perspectives involved.

Participation is free.

Big Data from digital and social media – are you digging for gold?
How does Big Data from digital and social media interplay with the rest of the company's data? That is the focus at this event, featuring Ravi Vatrapu, professor at CBS, and Per Østergaard Jacobsen,external lecturer and project manager. You will get a detailed presentation of the research-based tool and in-depth knowledge about how it can be put to use here and now and over time.

Not sure which Diploma programme to choose? Attend an info meeting on one or more of our 10 Diploma programmes and learn more about which programme is right for you. We are hosting 10 info meeting from 15 to 17 November, so you can join the meetings that are most interesting to you. An info meeting is a unique opportunity to hear more about the programme(s) you are interested in from the programme directors and also an opportunity to meet and speak with students and lecturers.

Graduate Night
On the path of becoming a graduate, many reflections and considerations will emerge. For you as a master’s student it can seem difficult to decide your own career path, since there are a lot of options. To help you get started CBS Career Centre and CBS Career Partners invite all master students to “Graduate Night”. It will be an evening where 15 leading companies will present their Graduate Programmes and help you discover your future career path opportunities.

Inaugural Lecture: Adjunct professor Jim Hagemann Snabe
Adjunct professor Jim Hagemann Snabe will speak on the topic of “The fourth industrial revolution – the role of leadership in setting the direction for renewal of business strategy, organization and society”.
Jim Hagemann Snabe is the former co-CEO of SAP. He developed his career in the IT industry, mainly at SAP as well as a few years with IBM. He currently serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees at the World Economic Forum and sits on the boards of Allianz, SAP, Siemens in Germany and A.P. Møller Maersk A/S and Bang & Olufsen in Denmark.

DSEB and CBS award prizes to staff and students
Awards, cash prizes and a presentation by last year's winner of the DSEB Research Dissemination Prize - Ravi Vatrapu, Professor with the Department of IT Management - are the highlights when the Danish Society for Education and Business (DSEB) and CBS once again present prizes to CBS students and staff.
The topic of Ravi Vatrapus presentation is ”Social Set Analysis of Social Media Crises (aka “Shitstorms”)”.
A new initiative this year are three Fonnesbech prizes; one for a VIP/TAP group of employees at CBS, one for a student, and one for a PhD.

Everyone is welcome on 25 November at the Kiln Hall.
