Management, Organisation, and Efficiency in the Educational Sector (Management, Organisation, Efficiency)

Abstract:

This project offers a research-based contribution to the public debate on educational policy and, more generally, places it in a welfare policy context. Through its empirical analyses, the project can improve the policy debate by providing research-based information aon which solutions work, and which do not, in delivering quality and cost effectiveness in the area of education. In this effort we make a distinction between effectiveness (i.e. goal achievement), cost efficiency (i.e. productivity), and output quality (i.e. educational performance on a number of dimensions). We already know something about these areas from existing analyses and reports. In particular, we have information about primary and lower secondary school; analyses are on their way for universities. Still, we lack systematised knowledgeg about secondary education (high schools and vocational training).
