Value Driven Procurement in Building and Real Estate (VALPRO)

Abstract:

The project will seek to identify how institutionalized practices impact the emergence and employment of sustainability-related innovations. Through comparison of the institutionalized and innovative practices in Denmark, Sweden and France, we will generate insight into innovative building design processes and improved building practices in sustainable construction. Innovation for sustainability might be a new opportunity for actors in the building sector to work together (e.g., architects with engineers and professionals with users) to create new solutions in collaboration and to approach their own work differently(e.g., architects having a research center in their own firm). Ultimately, innovation in design templates for sustainable construction is expected to reduce the energy consumption of new buildings.
