CBS recognised for its international profile

Renowned ranking places CBS as no. 59 out of the 200 most international universities worldwide, which not only makes CBS the best international university in Northern Europe, but also places CBS among the most international universities from a non-English speaking country.

Times Higher Education ranks the 200 most international universities from among the institutions that feature in the top 800 of their overall World University Rankings 2015-2016. CBS ranks at a distinguished 59, which, according to CBS lecturer Sven Bislev, is certainly a strong position.

- English-speaking countries have an inherent advantage. People who wish to study abroad have always sought places where English is spoken. That’s why there’s not much to do about the top fifty schools primarily being Anglo-Saxon, explains Bislev.

Institutions are ranked based on the proportion of international staff, international students and research papers published with at least one co-author from another country. CBS’ excellent ranking is largely due to the high number of foreign students and instructors. The strongest factor, however, is the large number of foreign partner universities CBS has.

Another non-Anglo-Saxon country with several top rankings on the list is Switzerland, which, according to Bislev, is due to the fact that it is a highly globalised nation.

- Switzerland is known for its exclusive and expensive education, but apart from Switzerland, there are incredibly few non-Anglo-Saxon countries that are ahead of us in the rankings, he says, adding:

- It’s great not only for CBS that we have the highest ranking in Northern Europe, but also for the business community in Denmark. The more attractive CBS is, the more talented individuals will seek us out.
