Who constitutes the network of power elite in Denmark? Sociologists Anton Grau Larsen and Christoph Houman Ellersgaard address this question. Based on a social network analysis, their findings show that the power network is an intricate tangle of branches. CEOs, government officials, politicians and trade unionists meet in this world to set the direction of Danish society.

Meet the two researchers behind the mapping of this network in a debate between the power elite and the media outside the circle of power. Bente Sorgenfrey, chair of the Confederation of Professionals, a union that represents 450,000 public and private employees, is one of the 423 people among the power elite and will talk about what the world looks like from inside the network. Director and editor-in-chief of the think tank and news media outlet Mandag Morgen, Lisbeth Knudsen, will offer an analysis of the media’s position, while journalist Nina Munch-Perrin will chair the debate. The two sociologists will also talk about what the power network looks like in 2016 and what has changed since 2013 when they began their project.

The event will be in Danish, and everyone is welcome.
