Presentation

Nathan is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Strategy and Innovation. In his dissertation he studies the antecedents, processes, and consequences of individual-level cooperation under competitive conditions. First, his job market paper investigates how competition influences the effect of cooperation under competitive conditions on idea generation performance and explores how cooperation processes are shaped by competition. Second, the companion paper examines how competition influences an individual’s willingness to cooperate in the first place and reveals the drivers behind these decisions. Nathan mainly uses lab and online experiments as his methods of choice. He has presented his research, among others, at the SEI (Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation) consortium in 2020 and at the CCC (Consortium on Competitiveness and Cooperation) in Toronto in 2022.

Primary research areas
