Food, technology, shipping, real estate, finance, fashion and sports. These are just a few of the industries that CBS' new adjunct professor navigates as owner and manager of the family-owned Thornico group. On Tuesday 4 November, Christian Stadil is appointed adjunct professor of creative leadership at the Centre for Business Development and Management.

- He's a very energetic person. He's an extremely creative and prominent leader with many interesting ideas and thoughts on leadership, which makes him an obvious adjunct professor at CBS, says Preben Melander, Professor and Director of Centre for Business Development and Management.

Christian Stadil's work is based on a basic philosophy called Company Karma. The goal of the philosophy is to create value for the company, employees and customers, as well as the cases in focus. As an example, Hummel supports football in Afghanistan and sponsors both the men's and the women's football team in Afghanistan as part of Hummel's strategy.

Stadil has received international awards for his management style and sits on a number of national and international think tanks and boards. Christian Stadil has also co-authored books on management philosophy, creativity and personal development. For example, "In the Shower with Picasso," which he wrote with Lene Tanggaard, Professor at Aalborg University.

Provocative and inspiring students
Christian Stadil is honoured by the title. He has recently welcomed his second child and is therefore more selective with the projects he participates in and has stepped down from a number of posts. But in his own words, he couldn't turn down the position as adjunct professor at CBS.

Over the past 10 years he has been a regular visitor at CBS in many different contexts and meeting the students has made an impression on him.

- I have never received as good and provocative, annoying and inspiring questions, as I have received from the students at CBS. You are dealing with students who have power, self-confidence and brains. And I'm looking forward to seeing more of them, says Christian Stadil.

He believes that as adjunct professor, he can contribute up-to-date knowledge and examples from his daily work in lectures and teaching.

- I'll bring information that is only hours old, and hopefully the students will experience and benefit from the freshness of the empiricism and cases I bring. And hopefully it's also some exciting industries, which the students will be excited to hear about, says Christian Stadil.
