On Monday 26 October 2020, the Financial Times released their annual rankings, revealing that the CBS EMBA retains its top position in the Nordic region. This year, the prestigious ranking places the CBS EMBA in 54th place globally. Similar to last year’s ranking, this puts the CBS EMBA ahead of the other single-university programmes in the Nordics.

“Providing a research-based EMBA of the highest quality is a vision that lies at the very core of our programme,” says Jesper Rangvid, Associate Dean for the CBS EMBA. “Our dedicated faculty, outstanding programme managers and engaged participants all collaborate to make our EMBA a refined experience that is practically applicable and immediately relevant to real-life organisational scenarios.”

CBS MBA Director Poul Hedegaard added, “We are thrilled to yet again reign as the programme that is considered best in the Nordics. The world of business demands that we stay agile and adaptive, and though we are a triple-accredited, internationally recognised MBA, we never rest on our laurels. The annual FT rankings provides a benchmark for how we compare with other prestigious programmes.”

Another ranking area where the CBS EMBA tends to perform well is work experience, a measure of the pre-EMBA experience of alumni according to the seniority of positions held, number of years in each position, company size and overseas work experience. This year, the programme attains place 14th globally.

“Our participants come to learn the latest cutting-edge research and practices from our esteemed faculty, but they also come to exchange ideas with their peers and build a trusted forum,” says Lone Ryevad Boysen, EMBA admissions manager. “Our strategy to create a class of senior executives that will benefit from each other’s expertise and diversity pays off time and time again, not just in the rankings but also inside the classroom.”

Graduates surveyed by the FT report a satisfaction level valued at 9.17 out of 10, serving as an indicator of how well the programme meet their expectations. And what about the hard numbers, i.e. the monetary returns? On average, EMBA graduates from CBS experienced a salary increase of 45%, measured three years after they have thrown their hats in the air on graduation day.
