Specific Entry Requirements

This is a concentration under the MSc in Economics and Business Administration (cand.merc.) programme. MSc EBA / cand.merc. has 14 concentrations, each with a limited number of places. The MSc EBA/cand.merc. graduate programme is the natural progression for the following bachelor degrees: HA Almen from CBS, HA i projektledelse, HA i Europæisk Business, BSc in International Shipping and Trade from CBS, BSc IB from CBS and BSc SEM from CBS. Applicants who do not have one of the above mentioned bachelor degrees can also be qualified for the programme, if the academic areas listed below are covered in full and as prescribed. Your educational background will be subject to an overall individual assessment in order to establish whether the following specific entry requirements are met:

45 ECTS-points in the following core academic areas, with a minimum of 5 ECTS-points within each:

English language requirement

The programme requires English at Danish level A.

The English requirements are very strict, which means that only the qualifications listed on the English level A page are accepted as alternative fulfilment.

If you do not fulfil the English requirements at the time of applying, you have until study start to document fulfilment. In other words, you are welcome to apply without fulfilling the English requirement, but you must fulfil the requirements as listed on the English level A page before study start (or 1 June if you are a non-EU citizen and need a student residence permit). If you need to take a language test/exam, your scores must be available to CBS Admissions by this time, however, you must upload a registration for the language test/exam when you apply.

Selection Criteria

This is a concentration under the MSc in Economics & Business Administration (MSc EBA / cand.merc.) There are a limited number of places available at each concentration and while entry requirements for the programme are the same, the selection criteria are unique to each one.

You are not guaranteed a place at an individual concentration, even if you fulfill all the entry requirements for the programme.

Selection criteria are applied if there are more qualified applicants than places. Qualified applicants who are not accepted at the concentration will be taken into consideration at lower priorities.

Remember to upload the correct documentation, as this can improve your chances of being accepted – for more details see documentation.

The selection process at the MSc EBA concentration Supply Chain Management is based on an overall assessment of applicants’ educational background at undergraduate level, with a focus on courses and grades within business administration and economics; grades within the academic areas constituting the specific entry requirements are of particular importance.

Courses and grades within organisation, strategy and logistics/operations management may also be taken into consideration.

Corporate Part-time Master

You can study Supply Chain Management either as a full-time programme or a part-time programme (Corporate Part-time Master). In order to be eligible for the part-time programme, you have to be employed within a relevant field, and work at least 25 hours/week.

You do not have to pay tuition, unless you are a non-EU citizen. Please contact Graduate Admission for further information.

Read more about the contents of the Corporate Part-time Master, and differences from the full-time version.

All admission requirements and selection criteria are the same whether you apply for the full-time Master or the Corporate Part-time Master. There are no specific number of places reserved for Corporate Part-time Master applicants, and it is therefore neither easier nor more difficult to get into the Supply Chain Management programme as Corporate Part-time Master student.

Application
When you apply through the application portal, you first have to select whether you are applying for Supply Chain Management as a full-time programme (Supply Chain Management - full-time) or as a Corporate Part-time Master (Supply Chain Management – part-time). This means that you can only apply for one of the two programmes in the application portal.

If you are applying for the corporate part-time master you have to upload the employment agreement form as documentation for relevant employment. If you have not yet finalised a job with a company, you can instead upload a letter explaining how you will document relevant employment no later than August 1st. If you have been offered a place on the Corporate Part-time Master but do not upload the employment agreement form by August 1st, you will be offered the option to switch to the full-time Master in Supply Chain Management instead.

PDF iconEmployment agreement form.

Whether or not you are employed within a relevant field of work will be decided based on a concrete overall assessment. There is no exact and final list of what constitutes a “relevant field of employment” for Supply Chain Management, but the work has to be within the field of business economics and administration. If you are in doubt, you can find inspiration for what could constitute relevant fields of employment by looking at our career information or reading the competency profile.

CBS is empowered to obtain information from SKAT in order to verify and support the information provided in the employment agreement form.

I have a legal claim to MSc EBA.

If you have a legal claim to the MSc in EBA, you are not guaranteed admission to a particular concentration of the programme. You will also undergo selection according to the selection criteria above.

You have a legal claim to be accepted at MSc EBA (but NOT at a specific concentration), if:

a) MSc EBA is the natural progression for your bachelor degree (see Admission for CBS bachelor degrees), AND
b) your bachelor degree is from CBS, AND
c) you apply for the MSc EBA the same year as you finish your bachelor degree.

If you are not eligible for a place based on the selection criteria for any of the concentrations you have chosen, you will be contacted with a view to prioritising the remaining MSc EBA concentrations.

Already have a master’s degree?

Part of the selection criteria is whether or not you already have a Danish Master’s degree. A completed Master's degree can be a disadavantage in the overall assessment. If you have a completed Master's degree from a country other than Denmark, this does not apply to you.

Note that applicants with a completed Danish Master's degree can only enrol in a new degree programme in certain circumstances (see the rules under "Previous studies at Master's level") and even if you are an exception to the rule, this can be disadvantageous.

Affiliation to the Danish labour market

Your affiliation to the Danish labour market will be taken into consideration as part of the selection process. In your application, you will be asked to write a paragraph of no more than 1000 characters (including spaces), describing your current circumstances and reflecting on your future career opportunities in Denmark.

Advance assessments

The following advance assessments will be used for the 2019 admission year.

Please note that our advance assessments only take into account the obligatory courses included in the standard curricula (programme regulations) of the bachelor degrees listed below; i.e. if you take electives/supplementary courses so as to cover one or more of the required areas, the requirements will be lowered accordingly. In case of a credit transfer of obligatory courses, we reserve the right not to use the advance assessment.

If your exact university and degree and enrolment year are not stated, you will be assessed according to the programme’s entry requirements.

Fulfilment of the entry requirements does not guarantee admission at the programme.
