The deadline to apply in Quota 1, for applicants with a foreign upper secondary exam, is also March 15 at 12:00.

Do you fulfil the entry requirements?
Most importantly, you should make sure you fulfil the entry requirements for the bachelor degree programme you want to apply for.

If you have a foreign upper secondary exam, you can check if you fulfil the entry requirements by finding your country in the list under 'See if your qualifications fulfil in our tables of comparisons'.

If you do not fulfil the entry requirements…
If you do not fulfil the entry requirements, you have different options available, for example taking a test or taking extra supplementary courses.

English langauge test:
If you do not fulfil the language requirement in English for the programme you are applying for, and you think your ability level is equivalent to what is required, you can take a language test. Note that you must take a test by latest June 24.

Mathematics during the summer: Mathematics is the only subject you can supplement during the summer, after July 5. If you study mathematics during the summer, you must remember:

  • Indicate this in your application on optagelse.dk
  • Upload your course registration receipt to optagelse.dk no later than July 5 at 12:00.
  • Upload documentation that you have passed mathematics, no later than September 15 at 12:00.

When is work experience included in Quota 2?
You must have worked an average of minimum 30 hours per week for at least one month, at the same job, for your work experience to be included in Quota 2. If you have two jobs and you work 10 hours at one job and 20 hours at the other, it unfortunately will not be included. All kinds of work experience is evaluated equally. Therefore, it does not matter whether you work in a shop, a kindergarten, an office or as a volunteer.

Do you need to write a motivational essay?
For some programmes, you need to write a motivational essay as part of your application in Quota 2. This is actually the most important part of Quota 2 applications so allow yourself adequate time and put energy into writing it.

The following programmes require a motivational essay:

Note: If the programme you are applying to is not on this list, save yourself extra time and work. Your motivational essay will not be read, even if you upload it here.

  • BSc in Business Administration and Digital Management (motivational essay must be in English)
  • BSc in Business Administration and Sociology (motivational essay must be in English)
  • BSc in Business, Asian Language and Culture – International Business in Asia (motivational essay must be in English)
  • BSc in Business, Language and Culture (motivational essay must be in English)
  • BSc in International Business (motivational essay must be in English)
  • BSc in International Business and Politics (motivational essay must be in English)
  • BSc in Shipping and Trade (motivational essay must be in English)
  • HA i europæisk business (motivational essay must be in Danish, Swedish or Norwegian)
  • HA i Markeds- og Kulturanalyse (motivational essay must be in Danish, Swedish or Norwegian)
  • HA pro. Erhvervsøkonomi HA – projektledelse (motivational essay must be in Danish, Swedish or Norwegian)
  • HA(fil.) - Erhvervsøkonomi – filosofi (motivational essay must be in Danish, Swedish or Norwegian)
  • HA(psyk.) - Erhvervsøkonomi – psykologi (motivational essay must be in Danish, Swedish or Norwegian)
  • HA(kom.) - Erhvervsøkonomi– virksomhedskommunikation (motivational essay must be in Danish, Swedish or Norwegian)

Remember to upload your documentation By March 15 at 12:00, you must also upload all documentation for activities completed in 2018 to your application on optagelse.dk such as:

  • Motivational essay
  • Exam certificate
  • Documentation for work
  • Documentation for time abroad
  • Documentation for other education

By July 5 at 12:00, you must upload documentation for activities completed in 2019 to your application on optagelse.dk.

We do not accept documentation uploaded after the deadline.

Confirmation of your application
CBS does not send a confirmation that we have received your application or signature page. If you apply with a NEM-ID, you will receive an email from optagelse.dk once you have approved your application. This is your confirmation that you have applied. You will receive a mail for each approved application.

You apply without NEM-ID
If you do not have a NEM-ID, you must print and sign a signature page for each programme you apply for.

You must send the signature pages to bacheloradmission@cbs.dk by March 15 at 12:00 at the latest.

Afterwards, you will receive an automatic reply via email, confirming that CBS has received your mail. Note that it is your responsibility to ensure all your signature pages are attached.
