Katharina

Meet Katharina, a student from BSc in Business, Languages and Culture (German)

Why did I choose my programme?
I chose my programme because I am interested in the overlap of business and cultures, and to learn more about the interconnection of the two with a focus on the German speaking markets. I want to learn more about the German speaking countries and economies from a different perspective.

What do I like the best?
I like the international environment at CBS and the diversity in my programme best. It opens up for interesting and new perspectives and a learning-based exchange among students. I especially enjoy the culture and sustainability related courses because in my opinion these are two very important aspects to keep in mind within economics.

What do I think is difficult?
I think the math-heavy courses are difficult, but I learned that taking part in the exercise classes helps so much.

What would I have liked to have known before starting my programme?
The attend at all exercise classes and that reading everything from the literature list won’t help me much to pass exams. I learned to re-focus my learning techniques towards a more qualitative-based learning, rather than quantitative-based reading strategy.

What do I want to do after finishing my programme?
I would like to work in an international company which works cross-countries between Denmark and Germany.

If I could give myself a piece of advice, before starting it would be…
Do not stress too much on understanding and reading everything. Take your time to find your best way of studying for every course and take time for friends, family, and your hobbies as well.
