Professor of global strategy to receive honorary doctorate from CBS

CBS will award Professor Alvaro Cuervo-Cazurra of Northeastern University with an honorary doctorate on Friday 15 March 2019. His inaugural lecture will discuss international business and strategy, especially emerging market multinationals. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Professor Cuervo-Cazurra is an expert in international business and strategy at D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Northeastern University, Boston, USA. According to Google Scholar he has been cited more than 7,500 times. Moreover, he has received numerous awards for his research, is a fellow at the Academy of Management and co-editor of Global Strategy Journal.

His geographic area of expertise is Latin America and he analyses three topics in his research:

- The internationalisation of firms, with a special interest in emerging market multinationals

- Capability upgrading, particularly technological capabilities

- Governance challenges, with a focus on corruption in international business

CBS Department of International Economics, Government and Business will award Professor Alvaro Cuervo-Cazurra with the honorary doctorate.

Professor Cuervo-Cazurra’s inaugural lecture will take place from 10:00-11:00 at Solbjerg Plads 3 in room SP202 on 15 March 2019, the same day as the CBS annual banquet. The reception will take place immediately afterwards from 11:00-12:00 on the second floor of Rotunden on Solbjerg Plads 3. Everyone is welcome to attend.
