”I am very happy and excited. It is a great responsibility and a huge honour,” Mitchell Dean says about his new role as head of the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy at CBS, one of the largest departments at CBS.

Mitchell Dean replaces his predecessor, Lotte Jensen, who is now Director of VIVE - the Danish Center for Social Science Research.

The Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy focuses its research around business humanities but also the human within multiple environments – society, nature, work, law and politics.

”We have a very interdisciplinary look at humans and business – from a political, philosophical, historical, and legal point of view. We place a lot of emphasis on the human perspective which I find is a very important aspect in the business world,” he says.

Mitchell Dean has been a professor at the department for six years and has been acting head of department for nine months.

After a hiring process he is now ready to take on the position as head:

”Together, we will be realising the enormous potential that lies ahead. We are a very inventive department. We do not follow paradigms, we invent them,” concludes Mitchell Dean.
