The professor who knows (almost) everything about creating a sustainable society

An American professor with years of practical and theoretical experience in creating sustainable societies is about to pay CBS a visit. Professor Donald Huisingh from the University of Tennessee has been working with 15 different countries on environmental policy, provided consultancy to more than 100 companies about environment-friendly production and is editor of the scientific journal Journal for Cleaner Production. During the lecture, he will touch upon how social upheavals, good examples, alternative paradigms and change agents can help generate innovation, which helps creating more just and sustainable societies.
He is also going to reveal how to better understand and improve the decision-making processes of individuals and organisations with a view to making better plans for a sustainable society.

What does the future of the Euro look like after Brexit?

How has Brexit impacted the financial situation of the EU and what does the future of the Euro look like. Georg Ringe, Professor of Law and Economics at the University of Hamburg, affiliated with CBS, will address these issues at the seminar. The focus is on developing the framework for a robust Euro zone.

Maritime industry challenges 2030

A collaboration between five Danish universities is going to strengthen research within the maritime sector. The collaboration has already resulted in the newly established Maritime Research Alliance, which will hold their first conference in February. Several maritime industry representatives is on the list of speakers. The conference will address topics such as industry challenges up to 2030, new technology, climate challenges, sustainability and innovation.

Why is Denmark in a leading position in the district heating industry?

Why is district heating much more commonly used in Denmark compared to other countries? Which networks are affecting and have affected energy supply in Denmark? Assistant Professor at the University of Aarhus will address these questions in a presentation of his PhD thesis “Benchmarking in the Danish district-heating sector: From regulation and governing to knowledge sharing and learning”. The seminar is in English and addresses researchers, students and companies who are not deterred from research dialogue.
