WHAT IS AT STAKE FOR THE FRENCH-GERMAN COOPERATION IN TODAY’S EUROPE

Torsdag, 7 februar, 2019 - 16:15 to 17:45

French-German

Europe is currently faced with unprecedented challenges in a changing world. These changes - global (in terms of climate change, migration, digital revolution, crises) as well as internal (what concerns increased populism, Brexit) - test the unity of the European Union just as citizens are about to go to the polls in May this year. Is the French-German collaboration, traditionally perceived as being the moving spirit of Europe, still able to gather countries around a common project? What can be expected from the French-German partnership signed the 22nd of January in Aachen? And what is Denmark’s view of the matter?

Three specialists in the field of Europe will look more closely at questions such as the above mentioned that are essential for the understanding of the current European debate: Christian Lequesne, Professor in political science at Sciences Po Paris and former General Manager at CERI (Center of International Studies), Joachim Schild, Professor in political science at Universität Trier, and Mads Dagnis Jensen, Associate Professor at CBS in comparative economic policy.

The debate will be conducted in English and moderated by Caroline de la Porte, Professor at CBS.
The event is organized in collaboration with Department of International Economics, Government and Business at CBS, Institut Français and the German and French embassies in Denmark.

Date: 7 February 2019, 16:15-17:45
Place: Copenhagen Business School, Porcelænshaven 22, Rs20, 2000 Frederiksberg

A glass of wine will be served after the conference.
