What now? The Implications of the US Election 2004

Seminar moderated by Poul Erik Skammelsen (TV 2), with Daniel N. Nelson, Gordon Slethaug and Edward Ashbee

Mandag, 29 november, 2004 - 14:00 to 16:30

Few doubt the significance of George W. Bush’s re-election victory. The administration’s commitment to the global war on terrorism and the development of a radical economic agenda has received a mandate from the American people. What, however, will be the consequences of this for both the US and Europe? And will the nature of the election itself – which many saw as bitter and divisive – leave a political legacy? This seminar will explore these important questions with contributions from each of the three speakers followed by a panel discussion and questions from the audience.
