The origin of the competitive state

- I believe in the competitive state as the modern welfare state. These are the words of Danish Finance Minister Bjarne Corydon. This statement caused quite a stir - won't a competitive state rule out a welfare state? In the first of five lectures, Ove K. Pedersen, Professor at CBS, who introduced the concept of the competitive state in 2011, and Bent Winther, Editor at Danish newspaper Politiko (Berlingske), will discuss how a new understanding can form the basis to characterise Denmark as a competitive state.

One of them is Steen Hildebrandt, Professor of Management and Organisation at Aarhus University, who will give a presentation on the types of leadership that motivate and involve employees.
