This year, the Programme Administration Services received 40 highly qualified applications for the elite, tri-continental exchange programme GLOBE

Since application for the GLOBE programme is only open for bachelor’s students in international business (IB), the number represents almost 40% of all eligible candidates.

The best of the best

Whereas the universities in Hong Kong and the US allow a broader student body to apply for the programme, only the bachelor’s students in international business can apply for GLOBE at CBS.

- The Globe programme is a unique option for the very ambitious HA IB students at CBS and our aim is to ensure that the most motivated and best qualified students are selected, says Martin Jes Iversen, GLOBE Programme Director.

- Due to this year’s many applications, I believe that we were able to select one of the strongest GLOBE batches ever. We are very happy with the turnout.

One programme – three continents

In the 2010 autumn, the fifth GLOBE batch will meet for the first time in Copenhagen, were they will start their one and a half year long journey together by participating in an intensive case competition developed in co-operation with a large Danish multinational company. In the spring semester, the class moves to Hong Kong to study at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for one semester. During the summer break, all of the students are given the opportunity to complete an internship in Asia, Europe or the US. Previous internships included companies like Carlsberg, Novo Nordisk and ISS. The GLOBE programme is completed at University of Carolina during the autumn semester.

What is GLOBE?

Global Learning Opportunities in Business Education (GLOBE) is an elite undergraduate business education programme, which has been jointly introduced by CBS, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of North Carolina in 2007. Each year, the partners select their top 15 business students to form the high-profile GLOBE class. Over the course of eighteen months, these 45 students study, work and live together on three different continents.
