Growth of 13.75% in first priorities

This year 20% more have applied for admission at CBS. An increase that is seen as a continuation and cementation of that growth, which since 2000 has increased with 140%. However, for the first time the number of applicants to language, communication and cultural studies is bigger than to studies within business administration and economics. These programs have experienced an increase of 11.02% in applicants whereas the increase for language, communication and cultural studies is 13.75%, which has never been seen before.

Breakthrough for globalization at CBS

“The Danish Prime Minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, talks about the challenges of globalization on an overall level, but here at CBS it means in practical terms that we provide our students with competencies to meet these challenges. Earlier it was normal that young people applied for purely humanistic studies e.g. at the University of Copenhagen, but today they also look towards CBS – maybe because they nowadays think with both their hearts and their purses, says Dean Søren Barlebo Rasmussen, the Faculty of Languages, Communication and Cultural Studies.
