ECON PhD wins young economist award

Dr. Sebastian Schwenen has just been awarded the Young Economists’ Essay Award (YEEA) at the 2012 conference of the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics (EARIE). He won the prize (EUR 1000) for his paper “Strategic Bidding in Multi-Unit Auctions with Capacity Constrained Bidders: the New York Capacity Market” which formed a central part of his December 2011 PhD dissertation “Security of Supply in Electricity Markets”.

Sebastian Schwenen is presently a postdoc at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy.
